Long-term, self-employed opportunity working on a newly secured social housing contract in the Melton Mowbray area. This Multi-Trade role offers consistent work, £23 per hour, fuel paid from job to job, and the opportunity to build a long-term working relationship on an established housing repairs contract. You'll be carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance in tenanted social housing properties, working directly in residents' homes and dealing with a variety of day-to-day repair and maintenance issues. I'm keen to hear from experienced Multi-Trades, Maintenance Operatives, Property Maintenance Engineers, or skilled Tradespeople who are confident carrying out a range of domestic repairs.
As the Multi-Trade Operative, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out responsive repairs and general maintenance in tenanted social housing properties
Completing a range of multi-trade repairs, depending on your skill set
Carpentry and joinery repairs, including doors, frames, skirting, architraves and general remedial works
Basic plumbing repairs, such as taps, toilets, sinks, traps and leaks
Minor plastering, patching and making-good works
Tiling and general finishing works
Basic kitchen and bathroom repairs
Repairing or replacing fixtures, fittings and other components within properties
Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently on the first visit where possible
Working professionally and respectfully within occupied properties
Keeping tenants informed and minimising disruption while carrying out repairs
Completing work to a good standard and in line with health, safety and housing maintenance requirements
The successful Multi-Trade Operative will:
Have proven experience in a multi-trade, property maintenance or responsive repairs role
Be confident working across several different trades
Have experience working in tenanted properties, social housing, housing maintenance or a similar domestic environment
Be comfortable working independently and managing a daily schedule of repairs
Have their own tools suitable for the role
Have their own reliable vehicle
Take pride in their workmanship and have good attention to detail
Be reliable, professional and confident dealing directly with tenants
Understand the importance of customer service when working in people's homes
