In this Housing Legal Assistant position, you will be:
Managing a varied caseload of housing litigation matters under supervision, including tenancy enforcement and possession proceedings
Supporting Housing Solicitors with the preparation and progression of legal action, including cases involving serious anti-social behaviour
Drafting legal documents including claim forms, particulars of claim, pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles
Assisting with the preparation of cases for court and supporting litigation strategy development
Ensuring compliance with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), housing legislation, and organisational procedures
Liaising with internal housing teams, solicitors, counsel, courts, and external stakeholders
Providing clear and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders under supervision
Supporting tenancy management and wider housing enforcement activity within the legal team
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and ensuring deadlines are met
Contributing to the delivery of a professional, responsive, and customer-focused legal service
I’d love to speak to any Housing Legal Assistant who has:
A 2:1 Law Degree or above, or LPC/SQE qualification (or equivalent)
Previous experience in a legal role or legal environment
Experience within civil litigation or housing-related work (desirable)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft legal documents
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Confidence working with internal stakeholders and external legal professionals
An interest in developing experience in housing law, tenancy enforcement, and civil litigation
Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) (desirable but not essential)
