I am currently seeking an ambitious Support worker to join an established Supported Housing organisation who delivers quality community and accommodation based support for some of the most vulnerable members of our communities (Young People) on a part time, temporary basis.
As a Support Worker you will be responsible for:
Manage referrals into the service, undertake interviews and assessments, and notify potential customers of the outcome of these activities.
Support customers to pay their rent, service charge and any personal charges in accordance with tenancy agreements.
To assist young people to access benefits and set utilities in their own accommodation
Induct new customers into the service, including the provision of information regarding Rights and Responsibilities, and expectations regarding the customer's commitment to engage in support sessions.
Identify and signpost customers to any support they may benefit from that is available from partner agencies, supporting customers to access these services as appropriate; including but not limited to the Housing Benefit department, MND, and Job Centre plus
Experience working with vulnerable people with support needs
Working knowledge of housing and benefits advice
Level 3 qualification i.e. Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
Ability to work positively and creatively with support needs.
Ability to work under pressure and using your own initiative
You should be available to work flexibility due to the nature of the role
