Niyaa People is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in line with UK Government targets. As a specialist recruitment partner within the social housing sector, we recognise our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact and support a more sustainable future.

Our Current Approach

As a service-based business, our environmental impact is primarily associated with office operations, employee travel, and digital infrastructure. We have already taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint, including:

• Operating a digital-first recruitment model, reducing paper usage and physical documentation
• Encouraging remote and hybrid working, reducing commuting emissions
• Using video conferencing and virtual interviews to minimise travel
• Promoting local candidate placement, reducing travel requirements for workers and clients
• Working with cloud-based systems (e.g. Mercury CRM) to improve efficiency and reduce physical resource use

Our Net Zero Strategy

We are committed to developing and implementing a structured Net Zero roadmap, which will include:

1. Measuring our emissions

• Establishing a baseline of our carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions
• Identifying key emission sources across operations and supply chain
