We're working with a local authority in the West Midlands that is urgently seeking an experienced Housing Options Assistant to support a busy Housing Options team during a period of high demand.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Contract: 4-month contract, with potential for extension
Key responsibilities of a Housing Options Assistant:
Securing and managing temporary accommodation placements
Carrying out void inspections, property checks, and tenancy sign-ups
Supporting homelessness prevention by liaising with landlords and clients
Handling notices to quit and supporting with move-ons
Completing benefit applications, licence agreements, and admin duties
Working with partner agencies and support services
What we're looking for from a Housing options assistant:
Strong background in temporary accommodation or housing options
Confident dealing with vulnerable clients and external partners
Good knowledge of housing law, especially around homelessness
Excellent IT and record-keeping skills
Car driver essential due to site visits
Available immediately and able to commit for at least 4 months
