Housing Officer Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Temporary Hourly Rate: £21£23 per hour via umbrella
We're currently looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a friendly, forward-thinking housing team based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity if you're passionate about housing and ready to take ownership of a patch, supporting tenants and ensuring high-quality tenancy management.
Key Responsibilities of the Housing Officer role:
Manage a patch of general needs properties and be the main point of contact for tenants.
Carry out tenancy sign-ups, viewings, property inspections, and well-being checks.
Respond to and resolve tenant enquiries and complaints, including anti-social behaviour cases.
Work proactively to sustain tenancies, identify support needs, and liaise with relevant services.
Maintain accurate records using housing management systems and ensure compliance with housing legislation.
Support the organisation in preparation for audits and inspections by ensuring your caseload is up to date and compliant.
About You:
Strong understanding of social housing, tenancy law, and housing management practices.
Confident using housing systems with excellent record-keeping and attention to detail.
Proven experience working as a Housing Officer or in a similar role within general needs housing.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of tenants, including managing challenging behaviours.
Able to work independently, manage a busy caseload, and contribute positively to a team environment.
